IMPACT
Mentorship & Networking
IMPACT Mentorship
IMPACT Mentorship program connects immigrants and newcomers to Canada with local mentors to gain a better understanding of the current job market in their field or occupation.
Under this program, we establish valuable networking contacts; and learn more about sector-specific language and professional practice in Canada.
We can help you start your career in Canada by connecting you with a right mentor, in order to support you in developing the skills needed to advance in your career.
How does the program work?
Mentees are accepted to the IMPACT Mentorship program using an online (web) form followed by client intake interviews, to assess their career readiness and mentee needs.
Our program matches mentees with mentors based on mentees needs and goals.
- A program orientation training session is provided outlining the roles and expectations of participants.
- The mentor and mentee are required to arrange a minimum of 20 hours of mentored guidance over the course of the 3-month mentorship program.
- Mentees document learning activities they will complete to meet their learning goals.
- Mentors provide general support and guidance as well as help with mentee’s specific career related needs.
- Learning activities include workshops or courses taken to advance skills, self-directed study to learn more about the profession and the needed skills.
- The mentees will be provided with the opportunity to connect with an industry partner.
- We facilitate LIVE workshops and networking sessions for the industry liaisons to share mentorship and career opportunities.
